Gatton Street Sprints 2008
The ninth annual Gatton Street Sprint has been run and won!
This exciting street circuit is an extremely popular, one kilometer long track cutting through Gatton's renowned Industrial area, and was held on 29th and 30th March 2008.
The best drivers aim to become a member of the 39 second club, by recording a 39 second (or less) lap around the circuit. This challenging Event is in high demand and the 135 entrant positions filled up very quickly.
CNJ Motorsport prepared vehicle's dominated the podium. A clean sweep of 1st, 2nd and 3rd outright!! Mark Berry produced an awesome 0:33.671, Russell Newman an upstopable 0:35.328 and Stephen Kakavas unrivaled 0:36.203.
Mark, Russelland Stephendrove flawlessly and produced some pretty awesome times in their Nissan Skyline GTR, same Nissan Skyline GTR and Mitsubishi EVO 9, respectively. The pre-existing lap record was broken several times over the weekend by the talented Mark. Russell and Mark were responsible for representing Australia at the famous Tsukuba racing circuit in Japan last December. Congratulations to all three competitors, great effort guys!
